As part of a team of 5 aiming to improve the student experience in London, we developed the foundation of a startup called Dora. Users can log places, discover where friends are going, and access promotional discounts from businesses. Drawing from personal experiences and student-focussed research, we designed Dora’s features to address the primary challenges students face when living in a city that can often feel lonely.

Dora promotional video for B2B and B2C

We designed and tested the app’s UI, and built a website targeted at both our end users and B2B clients. The project ended with numerous letters of support from well-known hospitality and events businesses such as Kaboodle and Belushi’s. We also reached over 250k social media accounts online with our profile.
USER EXPERIENCE
FOR STUDENTS
The Dora app lets students log and share their favourite spots, creating an engaging social experience, while our 3-factor model algorithm learns from this activity to provide accurate, personalised recommendations of affordable places tailored to them.
FOR BUSINESSES
Dora’s business features support London’s hospitality sector by providing venues with analytics and targeted promotional tools derived from our data, helping maximise their student customer base. Our B2B subscription tiers are shown left.
BRANDING
We worked alongside a diverse range of London students to perfect Dora’s image and functionality. I also created a promotional video showcasing Dora’s purpose, necessity, and user experience to both businesses and users.
